Content they worked hard on making.Īrticles are frequently stolen. The original community are obviously annoyed and upset as that is THEIR content the wiki is using. And since it's the more "popular" wiki since it generally is top of Google searches, more people find it, there's a lot of vandalism and a lot of false edits made. Eventually new admins are found but the damage is done. However, since the Wikia wiki is so unmoderated at this point, anyone can add anything and no one checks if it's right. (In the case of World of Warcraft Wikia, Wikia actually paid someone to come in and be an admin of it.)Įventually, users start to go to Nukapedia again and start to work on it again. As such, both wikis have the same or similar content at first, just one is active, one is dead. After moving, Wikia refuses to shut down the old wiki because it makes them money. For many of the reasons why Wikia is bad, they decided to move off to get more freedom, taking their content which they worked on with them.
